October 31, 1938 – December 2, 2015

At age 77, Luz Marina Zuluaga, Miss Universe 1958, died in Manizales on December 2. For most of her compatriots, she was the only Colombian Miss Universe they’ve known in their whole life and there is no shortage of adoration towards her. As an inspiring and beloved figure, Luz Marina stood tall among the country’s legendary beauty queens. She was tax exempt for life, a house was built for her by the Colombian government and a postage stamp was issued in her honor.

For Frederick Lee, having haters is a fact of life and he is willing to take the risk. The 45 year old Singaporean couturier embarked in a daunting task of designing the national costume for Miss Universe Singapore 2015 Lisa White. It is understandable why he is a bit concerned. His predecessor took a beating from online bashers for designing Miss Universe Singapore 2014 Reetha Menon’s national costume.

The Miss World 2015 World Fashion Designer Dress competition has hailed 10 dresses from various countries and designers as the best but the online fans of the pageant are not happy. One fan vented in the Facebook page of Miss World asking on who are the judges and how they were able to judge the 10 dresses as the best. So many others also expressed their dismay. Miss World 2015 – Understanding the Top Model challenge

The Miss World 2015 pageant recently shortlisted 30 women in the Top Model Challenge. This is one of the pre-finals event wherein the results do carry a lot of weight on the final tally. Why so? First of all, a total of three winners of this challenge went on to take the Miss World crown. They are Zhang Zilin (2007),  Ksenia Sukhinova (2008) and Megan Young (2013).
